Renovated it could be a charming 1 or 2 bedroom house with kitchen diner, lounge, balcony, terrace with access from a garden room, bathroom and main bedroom en-suite. Raising the roof would significantly increase the volume of the house – see design drawing. The house has been stabilised so is structurally sound, and cleared out back to the stone walls and roof structure, so does not leak and is dry. The house and barn are within the village boundary so services are close by and the house can be fully renovated with enlarged windows and increased size.

 

Location mountain hamlet farmhouse Picos de Europa views: La Molina, Cabrales, Asturias, Northern Spain

It is a good location because you have walking access to the mountains and forest right in front, but you can also be at the coast in half an hour. There is a larger village, Arenas de Cabrales, 15 minutes away which has shops, bars, restaurants, banks, school and a supermarket.

The traditional market town of Cangas de Onís with weekly Sunday farmers market is half an hour away, and the seaside town of Ribadesella is less than an hour. The coast with lovely beaches around the charming seaside town of Llanes is only half an hour. The vibrant historic towns of  OviedoAvilés y Gijón are less than an hour and half away, with the airports of Ranón (Asturias) and Santander also an hour and half, both with year round flights.
