Situated around Monte Nora, the high peak above Villaviciosa. Eucalyptus forest plantation of about 18 hectares, (181.575 m2) bordering on its upper edge with a panoramic view of 360 º. A single continuous piece of land, with eucalyptus, oaks, chestnuts and pines. Roe deer and wild boar in the area, and on the land. Vehicle track along two of its edge and all workable by tractor, a variety of timber species can be planted. Wide view of the Cantabrian Sea, the city of Gijón, the Villaviciosa river estuary, and the Sueve mountain range.
Due to their fast growth, the foremost benefit of eucalyptus trees is their wood. They can be chopped off at the root and they grow back again. They provide many desirable characteristics for use as ornament, timber, firewood and pulpwood. Eucalyptus wood is also used in a number of industries, from fence posts (where the oil-rich wood’s high resistance to decay is valued) and charcoal, to cellulose extraction for biofuels. Fast growth also makes eucalypts suitable as windbreaks and to reduce erosion.
