Gobiendes is a quiet, hilly village in front of the dramatic Sueve mountain range which rises from the coastal plain, with numerous beaches less than a kilometre from the house, including La Isla, Barrigón and Espasa. There is good but discrete access from the highway, with the nearest exit by the historic village of Colunga. It is only 5 kilometres away, and has a variety of cafes, bars and shops, as well as the lovely Griega beach, with grilled fish restaurant overlooking the beach and forest beside the river running out to sea. Gobiendes is a good location for both its general situation and proximity to coast, mountains and nearby, towns such as Colunga, Lastres, Ribadesella and Villaviciosa.
The historic towns of Oviedo, Avilés and Gijón are less than an hour away. Avilés (Asturias) airport is less than an hour away (85 km), and Santander airport just over an hour (135 km).
